Sunday in the Park with George
Boston University, 2024
Costumes designed by Dante Gonzales
Production photos by Katie Nelson

I created the understructure for Dot’s “standing dress.” The shell is made of crinoline with a skeleton of both rigilene and steel boning through many, many channels of prussian tape. The whole thing is held up by an EVA foam base and PVC pipes along the sides, and even has handles at the sides beneath the skirt for easy lifting. Outer Layer (jacket and skirt) stitched by Ava Luman.

Tonio Trussardi Hat
Class: Millinery 1, 2024

A buckram, wire, and fabric hat based on a character in the Japanese live-action drama Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan, an offshoot of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. Made at Boston University.

Mascot suit head
Class: Independent Study, 2025

I elected to create a mascot head as an independent semester-long project at Boston University. The character is Heimerdinger from the Netflix show Arcane. Through this project I learned that I thoroughly enjoy creating mascot suits, but I don’t quite enjoy wearing them. (If you want to purchase this head from me, he’s for sale!)

Madagascar: A Musical Adventure
Stages St. Louis, 2018
Costumes designed by Brad Musgrove

For Madagascar I made the following pieces: Marty and Melman’s cowls and hooves, a dancing steak suit, and King Julien’s helmet and goggles, among other accessories.

Seussical the Musical
Stages St. Louis, 2017
Costumes designed by Garth Dunbar

I built a shell for Yertle the Turtle, backpack-style. It is made of sections of upholstery fabric sewn into “compartments” filled with upholstery foam, sewn through a cutting board that had been jigsawed into shape and had holes drilled into it to sew through. The shell was finished off with bias tape binding made of the same upholstery fabric, sewn around cording. Patterned by Aurora Kenyon.
